Associate Member

Associate Members are aromatherapists who have taken a leave from their practice for no more than three consecutive years and do not currently carry professional liability insurance. They meet the qualifications for either the Registered Aromatherapist®/Essential Oil Therapist® or Professional Aromatherapist membership levels. Associate Members must adhere to the CAOA's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, fulfill continuing education requirements, and have voting rights within the association. They receive discounted rates for CAOA-hosted continuing education events and access to member-only areas of the CAOA website and Facebook group.
Business Member

Professional Aromatherapist

Professional Members are qualified aromatherapists who have completed at least 200 hours of verifiable education at a CAOA-approved school or through a program meeting our Core Curriculum standards, or have successfully passed the CAOA challenge exam. They must adhere to the CAOA's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, maintain practitioner insurance, and fulfill continuing education requirements. Professional Members have voting rights within the association, are listed on the CAOA website, and receive discounted rates for CAOA-hosted continuing education events. They also enjoy a free monthly newsletter, and access to member-only areas of the CAOA website and Facebook group.
Qualified Aromatherapist

Registered Aromatherapist®/Essential Oil Therapist® members hold a minimum of 400 hours of verifiable education from a CAOA-approved school or have successfully completed the CAOA challenge exam. They are entitled to use the Occupational Titles and Registered Trademarked Titles: Registered Aromatherapist® (RA®) and Essential Oil Therapist® (EOT®). These members must adhere to the CAOA's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice, fulfill continuing education requirements, and maintain practitioner insurance. They have voting rights within the association, are listed on the CAOA website, and receive discounts on CAOA-hosted events. A Registered Aromatherapist®/Essential Oil Therapist® may be highlighted on the CAOA website or in the newsletter and have access to member-only areas of the CAOA website and Facebook group.
Student Member
